Hi

Recently purchased a 2nd 360 with the RROD, the rear fan doesn't seem to spin on one side, now i've took the fan out and tried it on my other working 360 and the fan only spins on one side...so initially i thought this was a fan problem

but even if i try the working fan from out of my working xbox and put it in the 360 with the RROD the fan only works on one side again

so im bit confused whether this is a fan problem or a motherboard problem besides the red ring of death

any suggestions would be great thanks

get your multi meter out. ring out each fan circuit from the plug. then switch to dc and check the mother board fan header. your answer lies in those tests. theoretically you could bridge the two a second time, as the circuits are in paralell. anyway there may be a vr on the board burnt that as it began to fail went overvoltage and failed the fan motor then completely died and opened upstream of the header. your multi meter will tell the real story.
