Skypro 4X DVD-R media and NEC 1300A?

Has anybody been able to successfully use Skypro 4X DVD-R media with the NEC 1300A? I have firmware 1.0A and they don't work at all.

They work fine in my cheaper Emprex IDE1004 writer.

They're supposed to be decent media.
