Ok...I have many problems on my Wii

1. I wanted to install Twilight Hack on the Wii but I stupidly (though acidentally) updated my Wii to system menu version 4.0 and I dont know what to do.

2. This problem relates with the first problem slightly. My wii seems kindof messed up. Some of the games that used to run fine have started to run 'different'. Ive started getting many disc read errors on my Backups if I go to the wii menu or turn the wii off. When I turn the wii back on, the disc isnt recognised and I have to either turn the wii off completely and/or take out the power cord and put it back in. I need to install the Twilight Hack so that I can install the Homebrew Channel and then the WAD manager and then run the Downgrader.

3. I also need the Twilight Hack to download and install Wiiware and VC games.

Any help would be highly appreciated!! =D

Yooooo!

up to this date, You can't since you are already in 4.0. the TP hack is block. If you have NOT accidentally upgrade then there should be a posibility. all you can do now is WAIT if TP hack will be in 4.0...

but reading again your post: seems like you already have HBC and gamma and used to work? is that correct? do you have modchip? Are getting error 324?

I dont get an error right away.
After I turn it off and then back on, the game disc ussually isnt recognised and so I turn the wii off completely or I take out the power cable. Sometimes, when I do this, when I put the game disc in, I get the message with 'an Error has occured, eject disc and consult operations manual' and this happened when I updated with a downloaded Sonic and the Black Knight. And yes, I have a modchip.
Thanks for your quick reply and help.

Are you sure you are in 4.0?

quote from you "this happened when I updated with a downloaded Sonic and the Black Knight"

my guess is your in 3.4 version not 4.0.

There;s no game yet that has 4.0. Firmware 4.0 just came out last week.
what is your Wii region and firmware version prior to upgrade? how about the game is it PAL or NTSC?

Can you access your Wii Setting? Can you still play original games not Backup games?

Sorry, I dont think I was clear enough.
I updated my Wii to who-knows-which version with Sonic and the Black Knight. After the problems started, I hoped to install Twilight Hack and downgrade to fix the problem but I was scared that if I install it incorrectly, who-knows-what would happen to the Wii. One day, I got a message about the 4.0 menu system and I thought, "My prayers have been answered!!" Sadly, they weren't as the problem still persists and I cant do much about it, and here I am.

Lol, kindof funny if you think about it.
Anyways, I would appreciate if anyone could help me know because, if you can, may God bless you.

to summarized what you did:

Bought a Wii with 3.2/3.3 version, get bored playing Wii Sport, so you bought original games used or new(wink!..), so not to scratch the orginal games you make a backup copy. but seems NOT working, so you bought a Modchip. Now the backup works..Yohooo...a happy guy..

Then newer games came out got a backup copy..loaded up..A pop warning: You need to update your system to play the game.. So you updated just because you have modchip it should be safe.....NOPE your NOT.

- now Wii is semi-brick..why?

see attached: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/523776

Since the game you used was a version which not compatiple with your WII region (NTSC played PAL).

To fix this is to get a game with your own region with 4.0 version, but 4.0 just release last week so no games can fix it.

But then a messages came up last week: an update to 4.0...and you said: "Ohh thank God this should fix my problem"..
-- upgraded to 4.0 ...Oppps it did not...Why? you updated your Wii which not even your region.

e.g. your Wii is 3.3 NTSC version, brick with a 3.4 PAL games, then update again with 4.0 PAL. So Wii is still brick.

SOLUTION:
1) wait for a game higher than 4.0, again it should be your own region.
2) Send to Nintendo and have them Fix your wii.
3) Enjoy playing your Original games.

Lesson Learned: Asked Question when in Doubt..

from the thread posted by Larryje:

Here is an explanation of why a region brick/semi-brick is possible.

Nintendo has placed region locks on the hardware of the Wii. Flashing a firmware of a different region to the Wii simply makes the hardware inoperable.

--about TP hack---
Twilight hack is not an option for you as noted above.

Ok, let me be even clearer.
When I bought the Wii, the modchip was already installed.
I didnt try using PAL games on an NTSC Wii and my Wii isnt semi-bricked.
And the games I buy are backups. Lol, the only originalls I have are Wii Sports and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
If your'e wondering how there is so much piracy in my area, I live in Pakistan where people live off piracy (except for PS3, lol, feel sorry for PS3 owners).
I dont actually backup my games, I downloaded them, burn them to a DVD and play.

I dont think there should be any confusion now. Lol.

Lol. Thanks man, youve been a big help.
I guess for the Twilight Hack, I'll just have to wait for Team Twiizzers to hack the new menu version.

So my wii automatically updated me to 4.0 when I went online, i already have the homebrew channel, and my world of goo wad still works, but I am not able to install any wad files, it says error 2011, is there anything I can do to play my backup wii games? Or if im not able to upload any wads that means im pretty much toast until the new 4.0 downgrade comes out?

why? If you already have homebrew installed, everything will still work on 4.0 if you take the proper steps. Everything works on mine and I can install any wad I want on 4.0

If he don't need the SD feature he can stay in 3.4 or even 3.2, does not make sense to go to 4.0. Depends on some APPs he is running. Also If you messed up like accidentally deleted or move the HBC to SD there no turning back. But in 3.4 or lower you can still re install TP hack and HBC. I believe that is his point..
