Try plugging the VIA card into a different slot on your motherboard and also i STRONGLY recommend using Windows XP i was using Vist Ultimate 32 bit and i couldnt get it to work, switched to XP and worked without a hitch.

one other suggestion is to use the Slax method to get it into Mode B and recognized by the OS. I am using XP (without a VIA SATA) and it wouldn't recognize in JF until I put it in Mode B with Slax. Then everything was just fine.

once the drive looses power to it for 5 seconds or more it is out of mode B and back in mode A

what part of JF doesn't work? The flashing? Restoring your stock f/w? Recognizing the drive?

if you have XP, using the latest .NET framework (3.0 worked fine for me), and are following all the instructions to a "t" (ie., turning on the Xbox and PC at the same time, letting Slax run, once it recognizes using Slax, opening/closing the DVD drive a few times during XP load, etc...), then it might be your SATA connection. I just use the SATA connection off my m/b (Asus), but have never had a problem getting into Mode B and having XP recognize my hitachi drive.
