I actually know someone right now that is running ix1.5 Lite-ON with missing serial data and playing on Live everyday. They are too lazy to bring their XBOX back over to me so I guess it's their loss.

Anyways, as of right now MS is only doing checks on drive responses. So no "insta-ban" with missing serial data. Although if MS were to change their methods and check for serial data, that missing serial data would throw a huge red flag.

You can use the program DSDBfixer or Jungle Flasher 0.1.55 to repair your dummy bin. You must take apart the Lite-ON drive and read the stickers off of the laser and PCB board.

(Leerage, we must have posted at the same time, I wasn't trying to stomp on what you said)

it is not an immediate ban. also just going from 1.5 to 1.51 does not REQUIRE a serial fix. The deal is there was some early versions of JF and DVDkey that did not extract serials properly everytime. You should check your bin and see if your information is missing. What version of jungle flasher did you use to get the dummy the very first time? I guess we should check with team jungle to see if the flaw was just a comm error or if the program never even asked for those bits. Have any afterdawn members recieved COMPLETE serial info with the early versions of JF? The reason I asked is when I first heard of the flaw I contacted my liteon customers and told them I had to check their firmware (because I didn't date their bins and therefor had no idea what version of JF I used). Anyway only 1 or 2 of about 9 liteon flashers were missing info. You can search for and download a prog called DSDBFixer to fix your dummy. You can also use jungle flasher but JF 1.51 doesn't "prompt or help" you with the missing infor. 1.55 might but I haven't rebuilt a dummy with 1.55 yet. DSDBfixer will prompt you if you do it wrong.

Secondly there is not one reported case (AFAIK)of a liteon ban with missing serial info being the suspect. I am not even sure Live can drill that far down into your firmware to see the serial numbers of the laser, etc.

Put it this way, if its missing then fix it and you stand a better chance.
Just my two cents.
