I am using video spin from Pinnacle and have a question. I want to add video that is in a MPG format. The software is free to use. but after 15 days you need to purchase codecs for MPEG-3 and MPEG-4 formats. My question is that my movie files are in MPG format, so does that mean that i will be O.K. the way it is, or will I have a problem after the 15 days.
I tried there website, but they do not have to much of a support area and I can't find a definite answer.
Also, does anybody know if Video Spin can IMPORT AVI files?
Thanks for your time on this, I look forward to hearing from you soon.
From what I read it can edit files you already have on your hard drive including mpeg and avi, but it only lets you save(output) to a particular file type. You can edit your mpegs but after 15 days your limited to how you can save them. Mpeg1 is similar to VHS quality which is still good for internet.
you can export only to AVI, Flash, Real, or MPEG-1 format (for free).
Alternatively you can output in DivX, MPEG-2, or MPEG-4 format to your hard drive, albeit only for 15 days; after that you can purchase the set of codecs for $15 or pay $5 each for individual codecs.
Depending on how you want to edit an avi, avidemux would be a more reliable and quicker editer for that file type.
