I used a ulead product to make a svcd of some avi files I took from my camcorder. In return I got a huge mpg file so I went to split it into 2 parts using the program easy video splitter, so I could burn it on 2 seperate cds. The last part of the file is fine, and when I go to burn it with Nero as a svcd it doesn't show any errors or that it needs to be reencoded, but the the first half shows that it does. So I decided to just go ahead and load the whole mpg file into the program without splitting it, and it shows that it is ready to burn no problems. Just the first half changes after I split it with easy video splitter. Does anyone know what could be causing this?? Also what are some other software options I have for splitting the mpg file?
Thanks :)

It seems that when the Program Splits a File it doesn"t re-write the SVCD header into the edited File.. A SVCD Compliant Mpeg2 file has a Specific SVCD Header inbedded into the File that the Burning Program reads and if the header isn"t there the SVCD File is no longer SVCD Compliant...What you need to do is add a SVCD Header the the Part of the file that Nero complains about...You can do this in a couple minutes useing Tmpgenc"s Mpeg Tools...You should probably used something like TMPGEnc to encode your files to SVCD anyways because the Ulead Encoder isn"t that good..You can download TMPGEnc from the Software section of this site..What you would do with that file is Run TMPGEnc and go to "File" to "Mpeg tools" to "Mpeg & Cut" and Load in the File that you had problem with and choose "Super-Video CD" from the dropDown menu and choose a Name for your file and Click "Run", It will remux your Mpeg2 file and add the Proper SVCD Header to the File, when it is done you can then use Nero to burn the File to CD-r..You can Probably get away with ignoreing the message Nero gives you and Just Burning the File anyways cuz that usually works also....Cheers
