So I guess why upgrade to 4.0 then since you don't need it to run the usb loader? Games won't have 4.0 for a while anyway. Option step 1 looks the easiest so I am not clear why there is even a second method but I haven't done it yet.

I just need the SD feature already loaded closed to 50 WADs..as far as USB loader did not even came up before 4.0.

Yeah, but can't you just run the ios downgrader as stated for option one? I guess most people are updating to 4.0 for the SD size, right? Is it umlimited or is it 32GB, hearing different things about that as well.
yes, you can used the ios downgrader, so when other user went 4.0 and they cannot play trucha signed game they panic and went back to 3.2 and still doesn't work.
seems like you already did your assignment. i prefer method 1 to get all necessary file then later downgrade the IOS. In method 2 few people has no luck i've read they also brick their Wii.

I already tested 8 gig and it works..
Yeah, gotta do your homework before jumping the gun. I haven't heard of anyone bricking their wii with method 1, so I'll probably stick with that.
I used method 2 when updating to 4.0 myself. Also updated to cIOS36_rev9. WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma/cMIOS_rev3 (for GC support) VC/WiiWare SD card Launch and USB Loader all work.

USB loader looks sweet, just need to get a drive now that does. Where is the newest wii gator located? Pretty sure I have it. Now if they can only make a usb loader for the 360 we'd really be set!
