4.0 Softmod. . .backups?

Hi everyone,

I know there are a million threads talking about this, but I've been finding that I read one and I think to myself . . . "That's exactly what I need to know!", until. . BANG they start talking about Modchips, or specific game patches etc.

I have one very simple question that I would appreciate a response on.

(quick background)
I am currently playing back-ups on my 3.4u softmodded wii (with a baby girl in the house I've had one too many originals end up with either peanut butter on them or used as a tea party coaster!)

I've not had any problems at all running the back-ups (I do have HBC and Wad man installed as well).

Now 4.0 is out. . .

Question:

If I just go in to my wii menu and say "Go ahead and update!"

Will my backups (and any future games I buy and back-up) still work via wiigator?

OR

Do I need to do some kind of new installation process to get it all working?

Can someone please advise based on 100% softmodding with wiigator? Nothing fancy!
