Well I broke my PSP 1000 trying to replace an LCD screen, now I have
a fat datel tool battery and was wondering if it would work on a PSP 2000. Can I still mod the PSP? Also can I use my fat battery from Sony?

yes and no - the batery will work however it is too big for the socket on a slim.

I have used one (pandora_ but it is difficult to get it to connect, use electrical tape to tape it in position when working.

Normal battery - no unlesss you want to carry it round with the electrical tape holding it in place

Yes, I modded my slim psp with a fat battery. But the battery will keep falling out of place and will be bulky if you use a normal phat battery in your slim.
