I bought a new Samsung ms-28 drive, and after many many hours of trying to spoof it as an hitachi drive although finally got it done i hope.
Anyway its not reading any Xbox 360 originals, Original movies, back up games or backup movies,
I managed to get windows to allocated it a drive letter and it will read Data discs such as slax from a cdr and an old scratched and battered copy of microsoft picture it, but still not play original, or back up movies, or even recognise games just makes clickeng sound then gives up, especially worse on dl discs
This is a brand new drive so cant or shouldn't have a weak laser.
Anyone else had the same problem and know how to get it working properly please?
Yh i think you may be right, cos i've hooked it bk up to xbox n music cds play fine and have tried every single tiny movement on the DVD pot to tweak it and still the same. So its going back to Divineo as faulty. On a good note though i just did the pot tweak on the original hitachi drive n reads everything like a charm, so hopefully that'll last.
Hi there i am sorry to say this but did you flash the old drive key to the new drivs as all the dvd drivers are key to the xbox they came with and if you put a new drive in your xbox360 you must flash the old drive key to it. to do this just go to google and type how to flash my old drive key to my new drive or may be there is a forum on here how to do it cheer hope this helps
