As the topic says it unlocks successfuly but then it fails on vendor intro. My drive already has 1.48 iextreme and I am wanting to flash to 1.51. I already screwed my hatachi drive up and am not about to screw this one up. Any help would be great.

Well It keeps going to 0x51 and not 0x73. It flashed with no problems the first time and now it won't even go into vendor mode. I am just about done with this crap. It seems that not to many people have problems flashing it the second time but i'll be damned if I get it easy. Please someone help.

BenQs are very hard to brick. They support bad flash, unlike the Hitachi, and you can just send a chip erase and try and write the firmware again.

What type of SATA chipset are you using?

Well to tell you the truth I don't know what chipset i have but I have done 5 boxes all on my comp that I am using. I just tried to load iprep with the new benq 1.51 and it says invalid firmware. The version of iprep is 008.8. I was just about to look for a newer version and thought I would check the post first. Is iprep safer than jungle flasher? Thanks for your response.

Well I just loaded iprep with all three 1.5 firmwares and they all loaded. As soon as I try to load 1.51 is says firmware is invalid. All are 256kb and they won't load but like I said there previous versions all do. Maybe my problem here is the version of iprep. Any suggestions on the ongoing fiasco. thanks, Pit

you need to get a file from xbins called ixdef1.51 and place it in c:program files/iprep/resources.replace that file with the new one and the ixtreme 1.51 firmware should load no problems.if you are having trouble finding the ixdef 1.51 file pm me and ill email it to you.good luck

Well I finally got it using the Iprep method but stil had problems. Heres how I did it.

1. Loaded all files for bootable usb jumpdrive using Iprep

2. Restarted comp and loaded using usb flashdrive to boot off of

3. Put in the command "dBen" followed by serial off xbox case and hit enter

4. Unlocked drive on the third option cause the first two failed

5. read firmaware using "R" as the selection

Here is where it got really weird for me. After step 5 It asks for the fBen plus serial number which it shows right above the prompt, but when I go to select my drive it did not find it and it failed. So here is how I got it to be successfull. Continued from step 6.
(CAUTION DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR XBOX DRIVE OR YOU WILL HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN FROM STEP 1)

6. Restarted comp and booted from the usb drive

7. instead of using "dBen" I used "fBen" to flash my already read drive

8. It found my drive on the first selection and wrote correctly with the new 1.51 iextreme

9. Powered off drive and hooked it back to my tv

It will say write successfull or something close to that and your drive will still be flashing. Just power off drive and hook it back up to your tv and check to see if it flashed properly.

I may not ever use JungleFlasher again as it seems to have to many options that can screw everything up. I now prefer the Iprep method to everyone with the three drives it supports. I hope my problems and success will help someone else cause it sure is nice to know that someone else has already done it.
