I have 3 questions:

Is the process involving DVD2ONE + DVD Decrypter + Nero
better or easier than just using DVD Shrink + Nero?
I may be wrong(I am still new to this), but I was under the impression that the first process listed above can only do movie with no menus & extras...as the second method duplicates ALL of the original DVD...correct?

OK, last question...I have Alcohol 120%...is it good for making copies of DVD's? I have heard it is good with CD's but havent seen much info on DVD's with Alcohol.

Neo_11,

First, your impression was wrong.

Both recipes are excellent.

The major difference is DVD2One cost $$$$ and DVD Shrink costs 00.00

Alcohol 120% is good for playing your files prior to burning but then again, your PC's PowerDVD Player works just well also :P)

Me, I store several DVD's on my PC to watch at a later time without having to go fetch the disc :-)
(Right now I have 28 movies on my 200GB drive)

That should cover all your questions, I'll take a second to Welcome you to our little Club and I'll see Ya 'round :)

Thanx for the info, Pete. The reason I made the assumption about the DVD2One method was b/c on the "Copy DVD-9 movie to a single DVD-R with DVD2One" guide it says in the intro: "This method removes all extras and menus from the original DVD layout and allows copying only one part of the DVD..." Does this apply only to the TV Series DVD's mentioned after in that paragraph?

The question that you asked was - "can only do movie with no menus & extras" - The answer to that question was -

DVD-5 (< 4.36GB) movies can be done as a "Full Movie", trailers and all. It even says so in that guide you referred too. Backing up DVD-9's, yes, you will lose your menus there but, NOT with DVD-5's.

As far as episode type burning, DVD2One has a "Join" mode, I backed up all 12 episodes of "Sex in the City", saving myself an extra Disc :-). Backing up episodes using DVD Shrink in the re-Author mode also costs you menus - you gain with them both and you lose with them both :-(
