Last year, I tried to upgrade my psp but switched it off quickly. I thought It was bricked. i haven't used it for many months. then my cousin put his battery to my psp and it worked. so i bought a new one which is very cheap. so now ,I am planning to upgrade my psp(again) but i have problems on activating my recovery menu. i always do the usual procedure which is to turn it off completely and turn it on while holding the R button.black screen always appears instead of recovery menu(r button os working by the way). My psp works perfectly fine. I can browse my xmd and even play games. PLease I need help.thank you very much.(sorry for my english)

check your psp system information and see if you still have custom firmware installed on it, you may need to reinstall custom firmware with a magic memory stick and pandora battery to get the recovery menu back on.

ok well its odd that everything is working with the cfw and not the recovery menu but you can still upgrade without using the recovery menu by copying the m33 update files in usb mode from the xmb; so it doesn't stop you from upgrading with the usual methods.

its just weird is all and i thought you may not be on custom firmware anymore which would mean you would need to downgrade again and install cfw again or get a pandora battery and magic memory stick.
