I'm looking to purchase a conversion program to convert avi to dvd formats and would like some reccomendations. I'm interested in both quality and ease of use. I had purchased the newest Nero program a year ago and hated it. I had a lot of problems with audio and video matching up. If possible I would like a program that has all of the needed codecs included so that I'm not having to download a bunch of different stuff.

So please give your reccommendations and the reason why you like them.

Thanks in advance!

Thread teleported to relevant forum.

There's a dearth of similar threads here (on most pages in fact, hence the forum name), please have a read thru a few of them first..

Actually, creaky, you mean "overabundance," not "dearth." "Dearth" means a scarcity of something, not a superfluous amount.

Just sayin'. Please don't ban me. :P

Have a look to ConvertXtoDVD, easy to use, fast, excellent quality, excellent support plus it's own forum over a CD Freak's and a simple menu but the trial will leave a watermark in your vido. The best one step converter available. Not familar with it but hear good thing's about DVD Flick (free too). A codec pack like the K Lite (Full) should contain all you need for your computer and you can install the part's you wish: http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm or the XVID codec will play about 90 - 95% of avi: http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/

I have found DVDFlick (as suggested by Mistycat) as well as AVStoDVD to both perform well. Plus both are free :)
