What are the different flash memory sections for on the psp?

I know 0 and 1 hold firmware or something.

2 is empty.

When I connect flash 3 as usb, it says I need to format the disc.
(Obviously I'm not going to).

I'm asking because I want to know if I can store anything on flash 2 (or any flash for that matter). I read somewhere that you can keep themes on your flash.
Please explain what's possible, what's risky and what's safe, and what the different areas of flash are for.

Flash 2 is storage for the Sony store(account info) so if you don't connect to it, it is empty. Flash 3 is empty for all psp I think and may be unformatted so it has no effect on how the psp works.

You could store anything in any of the flashes as long as you do not delete any of the system files that are needed so if you want you could also store files in the flash0 if you want but be careful.

>flash1: System Settings
>flash2: PSN Settings

And since flash3 is unformatted, can I format it using my pc?

I would try storing in the flash1 since there is nothing in there that is needed and it is around 4MB. The flash3 is very small and unless you want to repartition the whole Lflash it will not store anything that I know of.

Do not delete stuff from the flash1 though instead format it from the recovery menu and then store stuff in there.
