I want to flash my liteon drive which requires me to boot up and push the tray half way in and then power cycle the drive. I have the keys already but i dont have CK3 or anything else that can run power into the drive besides the 360. I saw on one forum somebody mentioned that if you power on the 360 (which i must do to get power to the drive) without the drive in the sata port then it bans the console from xbox live. I have tried searching google but i found no other evidence that it was true, but, i dont want to take a chance. Could somebody clear this up for me? Thanks a lot.
(the logic was that the motherboard wouldnt see the drive key and then think it has been spoofed somehow and ban you from live even if you aren't connected to the internet)

That's one of the countless stupid rumors that has been around. We don't KNOW why they ban, but we DO know it has to do with the backups and not powering the drive, ect...

If you have the keys from the liteon, then just power on the drive with your 360 power, and flash the system with the key you got. Unless you did something else to get the keys, I don't know what you're doing!
