I successfully used xbc 2.8 with a samsung SH-D162D SB00 Keron v1.00 to make a backup of Assassins Creed. I then tried Tomb Raider and Guitar Hero III and both games get the error (unable to determine the current visible partition) or security errors if the read makes it that far. Please Help.

Make sure that the discs aren't full of scratches. And to wipe the discs before trying to backup. Also, you may want to check that Windows Media Player isn't using the drive. Even if WMP isn't open, it still has access to it, so you may want to go into Task Manager, and end task for "wmplayer.exe".
