Hi All,

When I put Homebrew in my Wii last week I had to do a fix from the link here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=572be6275...howtopic=112945

It had me run an app called IOS downgrader, the first run did not work for me as I did not have my wirless adaptor in the Wii then on reading somewhere of a similar problem I put in the network adaptor and wep key and away it went..

I never gave it much thought at the time I was just relieved that the proces worked and I had not bricked my Wii.

But on reflection I am wondering why I had to connect to the internet and download files via my netowrk when I had to download everything else myself why do we not download these files too if any?

What IP or Address does the Wii connect to to do this? and what if any information does it send about the user?

what you did is you downloaded files from the big N, get all necessary files needed. You get the IOS files that was not patch.

Some problems when doing the IOS downgrader was connection (error = 116) which means no connection this is due to router security, the fix this is to set your wii to static IP (manual) which you did.

what info was given? hhmm.. Don't know. As i mentioned it is rare to brick your Wii when doing the hack.
