Hi, my Any Video Converter and Aiseesoft Video converter now take ages to convert a vido. They used to get the job done very fast. The video I am trying to convert is 1:46 long and is 4.58mb and so far it has taken 15 mins and is on 65&. Something must be slowing my computer down but i cant think what? This cannot continue as I convert videos all the time from my camera in order to edit them.
I have an Acer Aspire Gemstone 6920.
And remember, my converters used to convert videos very quickly.
Thanks for your help

Check the DMA setting on the HD and burner.

Strange indeed, as I just used anyvideoconverter the other night to convert an mkv to an mpeg2 file, and it took the 35mb file less than 2 minutes for a double pass. I would suggest trying to uninstall it, use ccleaner to remove the leftovers, and do a fresh install.

Using the DMA is usually used when ripping or burning. I've never known DMA to be affected changing one video format to another with the files that are already on your HDD.
