I just installed the ModBo 4.0 (blue) into a Version 7 39001 PS2.
A little history on this PS2: A while back, the screen started bouncing on PSX games, but not PS2. No real problem except I can't play PSX games.
So, after getting a line on another PS2 from a friend, I decided to Mod the old one primarily for region-free useage.
So I install the ModBo 4, using reasonably short wires to my position, and it works.
only problems are that the Matrix screen bounces (a PSX drive based?) and after that it goes to a blank screen.
At first I was concerned that the Laser wasn't reading right, and it seemed to have issues locking in, but I fiddled with the mounting and it now locks in on a fine point and stops figiting.
I just have no browser.
Any thoughts? I'm sure I'll go back in and start looking for a bridge somewhere, but if anyone can point me to the likely spot or spots to look, that'll help. Any other ideas would be helpful.
Nevermind. I had a bridge on connection "P" on the board side and my Drive was failinf because the contacts on the cable were all buggered up. Straightened them out, everything working great.
