PCI SATA Card question

I've seen a lot of people on this forum say that a 6421L card is preferred but find 0 result when shopping for a card w/ the L at the end. Any reason why a SYBA SY-VIA6421-3S1P PCI SATA / IDE Controller Card would not work properly for this?

Who said it didn't work? That's the card I used.
