Well i was on the process of flashing my lite-on and i got the dummy.bin file but when i clicked lite on erase my computer froze and said drive returned invalid status. I looked at tuts and i had to delete my via drivers first so i just wanted to know should i just unplug everything or restart the pc first?

Do it in dos with l-o-eras
keep doing it until you get status FF72, mght have to power cycle the drive

Then use Dosflash 1.7 to write your custom FW to the drive.

BTW, this is in DOS. It's easiest to finish in dos.

Disable your VIA card in the Device Manager.
Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and remove the viamraid.sys.
Re-Enable the VIA card.
Reboot.
Get back to your desktop and turn on the Lite-ON.
Open up JF and load your dummy bin and let it spoof ix1.51.
Go to MTKFlash tab and make sure you have the correct SATA port selected (it won't show any drive properties because you have already erased the flash chip).
Click Lite-ON Erase and power cycle when prompted.
Should return flash chip properties either MX or Winbond/Nex and Status 0x72.
Click Write.
When verified OK, click Outro/ATA Reset.

Thank you so much i just finished flashing it and it works perfectly. I just have one question every time i want to mod another lite on again, do i have to disable my via card and erase the viamraid then enable it? Again thank you so much

What I did was just cut out the viamraid.sys file and saved it to a safe location. Reason being if I need to use my VIA card to flash a Hitachi(with WinAPI), you need the viamraid,sys file to be there. I personally have had better luck with WinAPI than PortIO(no via drivers) flashing a Hitachi. Other reason I hold onto the viamraid.sys is I use a 0800 BenQ to copy games. Without viamraid.sys file in the drivers folder, the drive will be undetected.
