The only brand there web site has listed I have herd of is Verbatim .I tryed HP & Imation and the burner spit those disk out at me!
Any other brands you have had good luck with?

It's a crap shoot with both of them. They both buy from other manufacturers and put their name on it so you can't be 100% sure of what you're getting.
TDK's 4X +Rs were using Ricoh, which are outstanding discs, but someone else here just posted that he bought some and they were CMC which are junk.
Buying Riteks is the best and cheapest way to get your media, but if you must buy from the big-box electronics stores then look for the sales and try to pick up Fuji, Maxell or Verbatim.

Tech at Plextor keeps telling me stuff like
Taiyo ( WHAT!)
Ricoh ( uh ?)
Mitsubishi Chemical- I now virbatim is mad by MC but what do thease other company's make?
Im trying not use my CC so in stor buying makes more since for me.

Taiyo Yuden are extremely good discs but they are pricey. The disc included with my PX-708A was a Taiyo Yuden so it's no wonder Plextor's pimping them to you :)
With TY and Ricoh, I don't know who all are putting their names on what. Like I said before, TDK was using Ricoh but seems to be using CMC now :(
As far as buying Riteks online, I've bought from three places with no troubles at all - newegg.com, supermediastore.com and rima.com. Many here recommend meritline.com, but their rating at resellerratings.com scared me away so I can't vouch for them. Both newegg and rima have outstanding ratings there.

Thanks,I took your advice and got a 25 pack of 4X RITEK RIDATA from supermediastore.com for $28.00
Hope my 504A likes them. As it spit the HP & imation out at me.

When you say your drive spit out the others, you didn't try using -R instead of +R did you? The 504A will only take +R.

Nope I got +R
I made sure of that before I started buying , I just never thought That burner of DVD would be so picky!
I have used every brand under the sun when it comes to CD-R. Anyway I hope the RITEK work well.I already had to put the 3 sets that it rejected on ebay.

I didn't know the 504A was that fussy. At least it made sure you had good media before you started tho :)
