Hello

I have an old PS2 that works somewhat.

It can start up fine but discs will not spin.

I have tried searching all over to find which points to bridge to make the PS2 believe its always closed.

I have only been able to find people talking about it or suggesting it but nowhere that actually has a guide or pictures of doing this.

If someone could help point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

If the laser lights up, but the disc won't spin, it could be a bad spindle motor or defective laser ribbon cable.

What version PS2 do you have?

Its a black slim ps2. Im not totally sure of the model number. I can check when im back home if you guys need it. I'll check to see if the laser lights when i turn it on. Thanks

Yes see if it lights up at all, and if it moves at all.

The sensors to block to make the PS2 think it is closed are in the guides below.
