help xbox 360 can i replace dvd drive

ok here goes can i change my xbox 360 drive which is hitachi version 47 with a hitachi version 79 they both have been flashed before the 47 verion was flashed by someone else and i dont have the original firmware so would i still be able to do this has i would be able to get the dvd key whats on the drive or would i still need the original firmware thanks for any help

as long as the 47 is still operable, you can extract the dvd drive key. i don't know much about spoofing, but i believe you can switch out a 47 for a 79. alternatively, you can probably get a 47 off ebay.

take a look at the JF Tutorial guide, it has a lot of info and has step-by-step instructions on how to extract the drive key, flash, spoof, etc....
