I just had my 360 flashed with the latest firmware (plays MLB 2K9, etc.) Had a Cyberhome DVD drive and could not get a game to burn successfully. Bought my buddies exact Lite-On drive that he makes his copies with as well as his Kreon drive to backup my originals. Every game he made with the Lite-On works flawlessly on my 360, yet I cannot get any of my burns to work.
I am using the same media (Memorex DL) that he used on the games that play fine. I am using the same utility program (IMGBurn) and have even tried Clone Cd. I have been burning at 2.4X and I am still making coasters. Just for kicks I tried to up the speed to 4X on a burn and it loaded successfully in my 360. Trying it again later it would not load on repeated attempts. It (and all of my failed burns)will take a long time with the drive apparently trying to read the disc and then ultimately prompt me to hit "A" to open the drive. It never says it cannot read it or it is dirty. I am going nuts and wonder what to do?

Try to get better media, Memorex is crap, get Verbatims (made in Singapore), they are better.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Bumped merely to see if there were any ideas other than the disc brand. I bought some from Singapore that are on the way. I will see if that is plainly the cause of the failures...hope that it is. Just curious that my friend burned me 9 games on the same Memorex discs that I am using now and they all work and yet none of mine I burn work.
Thanks to the original responder about the disc brand recommendation, I will know this coming week when I get them if that is it.

Agree with Eisherz, try Verbatims or if not any decent DVD+DL's with Ritek dye. Although the discs are the same brand, doesn't necessarily mean they are the same.
The issue you are having, I also had will all copied games (Open Tray error) I fixed mine with a POT calibration.

May try the POT calibration. Am getting some games that work via a hot or cold start. Some work only if another copy has previously loaded, and some do not work at all. I got the Verbatims from Singapore and on my first try of my image of my COD 4 original, it failed to do anything except the usual (grinding noise sporadically until the prompt to press A to open the drive).

Has that "image" ever worked? You need a known good image to burn and test.. copying faulty low quality disks which don't work is a waste of time...
Also burner brand makes a huge difference.. not much point using a burner from before the pioneer112d.. my nec3550 makes flawless burns but they will not read on a 360.
Make sure nothing else is going on during burning.. screensaver cutting in, antivirus updating.. anything like that will screw it up.

LOL, everyone seems to hate Memorex disks. I still can't figure out why. I use them, and I've never had a problem. The only coaster I ever made was before I read about the Layer Break offset. Once I set that everything was fine. I burn with ImgBurn on 2.4x using a cheap generic no-name DL burner to crappy Wal-Mart disks, and all of my games work great. The wifey's playing Fable 2 now, and it's perfectly fine! I guess I'm just lucky.

memorex and 360's
25 burned.. 25 coasters.
Bet 3 months from now when you have a brick instead of a working drive you won't be saying the same.

7bombs, you may want to uninstall Imgburn, and then reinstall it to see if that's works for you, be sure to install the newest version.
