Strange how I haven't been able to find any information on this after doing some net searching for a few minutes. I have a home project music studio and so I am very familiar with latency when dealing with digital audio.

I have notice an obvious delay(latency) with my Wiimote when playing games that utilize point-at-screen with the cursor. The latency I'd say is of about 20-30 milliseconds (I might be off in that guess), and this becomes cumbersome and quite annoying for me personally when playing games like Mario Kart and 007 Quantum Solace.

Now, I have a Wiikey Modded Wii, and I was wondering if this is only the case for Wiikey systems, or for non-modded systems in general. If someone has some info on this matter or can point me to a link of some kind, that would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sincerely,

You surprised me that you notice 20msecs or even 60msecs delay when playing those games...

So how do you measure latency as fast as 20-30 milliseconds? coz not even voice can't even recognized if there a 60 msecs cut (end to end communications). Even at high speed data with 1gig speed won't even notice within that range.

Did you consider that you are using bluetooth technology? so what speed over the air? Your distance between the receiver and transmitter? The chip used between the 2. You have to get the technical specifications.

I have work/tested latency and delay on telecommunications but I won't even notice (naked eye) how long the delay or latency other than using high end test sets.

Thanks for the corrections and sorry for the incorrect data. I work with Cubase SX but don't have it installed at the moment to have checked the actually numbers myself for a point of reference before before being able to post my question, but I remember the number 20 and 52 as not being audible. Now I know, thanks to you fiber32 that they are 0.020 and 0,052. So I would make a readjustment in my estimate to about 200-300 milliseconds.

I've stumble into this link that might be able to clarify what problems I might be having.
