I have my computer hooked to my tv through one of those yellow cables..and everything works fine, but when I open a divx/xvid movie its just a black screen...it plays fine on my computer, but shows black on the tv...anyone know why?
heya, did you check if the cables are attached good enough, the TV is on the right channrl to show the DivX, etc.. What you need is a TV-card/ Nvidia. If anyone can explain better than me, you'd understand :)
have a nice day
hi are you using an ati card ? if so try this first make sure your tv is enabled in your avanced settings from your desktop , next go to overlay and go to clone
mode options and check theater mode that is what i had to do i hope this helps.......errrrrrrrr if you have an ati that is :)
If it displays fine but then fails when you try to play an AVI, wiggling cables will probably not help. This problem is possibly a 24fps / 60Hz refresh thing, having to do with converting a Progressive film to 30fps (interlaced) for your TV. An NTSC DVD player hooked up to a TV will do this, but maybe your composite video output is not happening.
Tuffstuff is right, maybe with some settings you can get it going. Try 800x600x16 @60Hz refresh; there is something about only the AVI output that the TV (primitive device) is choking on.
