i'm trying to flash a xbox 360hitachi drive 0059DL with jungleflasher v1.55 with ixtreme v1.51 but i can't find a tutorial that i can understand i have what i need i just don't understand where to hook thing up i have a via vt6421A ide & sata raid pci controller card i saw one tutorial that said i had to make sure the ends of the cable went in the right end or you brake the drive but it don't say what end is what does it hook up to the hard drive the tutorial said to make sure card was off but there no off switch on the card i have just a red cable here a picture of the card & cable
Ok, they are only talking about plugging it in wrong, as in trying to force the cable into place. You don't need to worry about this with the SATA Cable. The Power cable that goes from the drive to the 360 motherboard, sometimes when people disconnect those, they don't realize that they have to be plugged in properly. They have notches that match up, and people like to force them in, breaking the system. So don't worry about the cable thing.
I've flashed drives with a VIA6421 before, and you don't need to "shut off" whatever that tutorial was saying. There is no way to do that. Just connect everything, boot up the computer (it will take longer to boot), and then open JungleFlasher. There is a user guide in JungleFlasher, and it's really easy to follow!
i tried to plug the cables in but you can't plug the cable from the xbox any where i don't see were the cable can go the sata cable that came with the card only fits in the card the cable from xbox to the xbox dvd drive does not and i don't see a place in the pc i have a sony vaio i can't find a tutorial that show you how to hook up a VIA6421 ide & sata raid pci controller card to a sony vaio i been looking every day now for a month the card is green and look like a rectangle with a slot that fits the flat gray cable from the hard drive to the mother board and two slot that fit the sata cable it has a flat metal peice on end of the card and things that can fit ram flot but the metal thing gets in the way
no offense, but you seriously shouldnt attempt modding your 360 if you cant figure out how to put a PCI card into your desktop's motherboard. it doesnt go in the ram spots, it goes where the PCI cards go. if you want to know how to do this, then google "how to put a PCI card in a desktop."

And these type people have the guts to say we're asses for not hand holding them. This guy just needs to pay someone to do it or he has a lot of general PC knowledge he needs to learn before attempting this mod. I'm sure we'll see a thread soon about him f'n something up.

take the advise given and have someone do it for you. i know it sounds sweet modding your own box, but if you dont have general knowledge or the ability to spend several days reading up on the subject, i can almost guarantee you will not be successful.
