I have a banned 360. This week I'm looking to buy a new one so I can play on XBL again. However; if there is the chance I get a Lite-On DVD drive, would it be safe to swap that out with my flashed Hitachi-47 drive?
Yes you could spoof the Hitachi (to the best of my knowledge) to act as the Lite-On and run on the new 360 your going to get. I dont recomend this because Hitachis are the worst of the 4 drives but then again i use a Hitachi and it gives me no problems so id say go for it!! :D
Just flash the lite-on drive. The lite-on contains hidden commands that can't be spoofed by other drives. It's reccommended to just flash the lite-on drive because the chance is higher to get banned with a drive spoofed as a lite-on.

You take a hitachi out of one xbox, put it into another and it won't PLAY Anything but DVDs because the motherboard is "married" to the dvd drive. The key on the drive needs to match the key on the motherboard.
If you're DAMN determinded to get your self banned again, go ahead and take the Hitachi out, DUMP the key and related files off the Lite-On, spoof the Hitachi as the lite-on (YES YOU HAVE TO SPOOF, a Hitachi isn't a Lite-On) and proceed to play burned games until the banhammer hits. And it will hit YOU.
People (newbies) need to learn to read the stickies. Hell, there's one named "READ THIS FIRST. ULTIMIATE STICKY" that tell's you what you need to know.
