Custom Firmware Upgrading

I've been researching around, and I can't seem the find what I need or how to go about upgrading my custom firmware to the latest and greatest and even if I should consider upgrading.

My PSP (Phat) is currently running on 3.52 M33, and I know of some guy by the name of Dark_Alex or something that makes custom firmwares. How would I update to his latest release, and if possible would you be able to send me a link to an elaborate guide or give me one yourself.

link below can get you up to 5.00M33-4 then you can update your psp via a 5.00M33-6 download or i used the psp to download it direct
