Okay i have burnt a couple of games now and they've all worked some have screwed up in the burning process but i just through in another dvd and burnt again and it was fine. Now i have made 4 coasters trying to burn Godfather 2 and Wanted. They both finished dling and i have the .dvd and .iso files for each but they both give me an error message at %50 in Imgburn (I/O Error message in believ). I thought maybe it was the disks im using but they have worked for me in the past no problem, and when they did screw up it wasnt consistantly at 50%. anyone no what the problem could be???

Yeah, I had the same problem. When I first started burning backups, I was using Memorex DVD+R DL discs and had a few work for me. Then, I kept getting write error messages at the layer break. Once I switched to Verbatim, the problem was solved. Not a coaster since. If you're looking for reasonably priced dual layer verbatims, I'd suggest looking at newegg.com I got a 20 disc spindle for 27 bucks.

The firmware installed on that writer is ages out of date. Install the latest firmware (1.28 I think) and that alone might solve your problems.

If its a phillips writer, these are faulty in burning dual layer discs. I had this same problem with a phillips stock on my dell and had to flash it to a Benq I think for it to burn dl discs properly. do a search on the web and you can find it to dl free and flash
