Can i not have xbox live because of where i live?

So about a year ago i bought xbox live, set it up, started an account, and all was well. Until i went into games such as halo3 and cod4 the connection started lagged incredbily bad. To where the game was just pictures going from frame to frame. I live several miles from town and my all my friends that live in town connections are fine. I was wondering if its because of where i live or maybe my internet connection, i dont know. Im using this cheap wild blue router thing and i have so called high speed satellite. The big question how do i get xbox live to not lag. Im obviously technologically challenged so if you have a soultion please use little words. Im not the only person having this problem, so if you have a solution you would be saving more than one persons live.

I bet the latency with your satellite connection is causing the lag issue. No way to fix the distance traveled to the satellite and back. You are going to need a DSL or Cable connection.

Tea it's deffinitly because you have wildblue. Had it for about a week before I canceled it. Google 'wildblue + complaints' and you'll see why.
