Please help me flash a sppofed benq drive!

Hello I have been flashing a few 360's to 1.51 recently with jungle flash and I am quite confident on the process. I am trying to flash my little brothers that was bought from ebay but when I put the drive in it comes up as DG-16D2S when it is a Benq. This leads me to suspect that it is spoofed as a lite-on. It already plays backups so I am assuming it is running at least 1.4 - Can someone tell me what needs to be done to update it? I really don't want to brick it and can't seem to find the answer to this specific question.

Simply dump the firmware with Jungle Flasher. JF will load the firmware into the source tab. It will autospoof to ix1.51 for you and then you can flash at that point. Click Jungle Flasher Tutorial in my signature.

make sure you have benq firmware loaded in the target and respoof it to lite-on. dont flash lite-on firmware to a benq.

Yeah I sussed it but then could not find this thread to say I was sorted. Just like the first guy said all you do is intro the drive then press read and it will auto load the firmware and it says spoofedas bla bla. I was just unsure as I have never seen a spoofed drive in person before, at least now I know that you have to flash it with it's own firmware not the one it is trying to be. Anyone know of a good link that tells you how to spoof it in the first place?

you just pretty much explained it. just read the original drive to get the ofw but load the target as what the new drive actually is then click the spoof to target button. then just write it.
