Wii case swap question.

Does anyone know if it's a bad idea to omit the bottom metal plate when putting the wii system into a clear xcm case?

The tut's show you to put it back in but it would be much cooler to see the motherboard through the bottom of the case, imo.

The metal plate is a heat sink, and it won't be 'cool', in fact it would be running hotter :p

I had a wii that i put in a clear case and removed the bottom plate and it ran fine for a long time but then i bricked the nand with the wrong systemmenu so i would say it is fine but keep an eye on the heat

Yeah I actually set it up last night.
The heatsink idea sounds a little off as there is nothing like paste etc. to transfer the heat and the major heat producers have a heatsink on top.
I was more concerned with it being a grounding plate for multiple points on the bottom of the motherboard but I didn't notice any bumps that touched the mobo other than where the screws entered the case.
