I finally got my XBOX 360 opened days ago and have been struggling to flash it ever since. Until a couple of hours ago, I thought I had a BenQ, but I actually have the ever-unflashable Lite-On! I wish I had known what a Lite-On was so I could have not wasted my time for the past two days trying to figure out how to flash it. They gave me this drive when I sent my XBOX 360 in to get repaired for the RRoD. But they couldn't be bothered to give me HDMI output. That's messed up, man.
So, NOW I'm confused as to whether or not the Lite-On can be flashed, and what I need to do it. I keep getting all of these mixed messages: Can it be flashed, or does it have to be traded out? Either way, I need to buy something, right? But what do I buy?
So my first question is, can I FLASH the Lite-On? Do I HAVE to switch it with another disk drive, like the BenQ? I would rather just flash the Lite-On.
My second question is, if I can just flash the Lite-On, what exactly do I need to flash it? I can find tutorials myself, I mean what do I need to BUY? I've seen a lot of products that make it sound like they can only help swap the Lite-On for something else, like the Kreon thingy from http://kreon.offerdahl.org/ and the CK3.

Thanks for the dismissive not-helpful info, but I have been doing that for a long time. That's why I made this thread, so somebody could just point it out to me, since in my searching I'm only getting more and more confused as to what I can do and what I need to do it.
I don't want to be rude, but seriously. You don't even have to read any part of my post to go "use the search button".
1. Yes you can flash a LiteOn. You don't need to swap it, but the LiteOn is more difficult then the other drives.
2. The CK3, if used with the Probe will allow you to extract the unique key from the LiteOn drive, which is used for flashing it. You can build the tool yourself, saving you $40 for a one time use, unless you plan on modding more 360's.
So you will need to have SATA on your computer (preferably nForce, if built on the motherboard), but if you don't you can buy a VIA6421 SATA PCI Card. Then you need to extract the key from the drive, and then flash it.
Download the jungle flasher 1.55 APP. When you run that, there's a tutorial on how to use it to flash any drive, including the lite-on. All this info is in the Ultimate Sticky thread that's at the top of page 1. That's why his info is passive. There's 10 threads on the first 2 pages that also deal with the lite-on. You have apparently not searched THIS forum yet.
