My problem is that my modded ps2, with a genuine matrix infinity
chip (1.93 firmware), does not recognize any hdd anymore. BUT THAT'S NOT THE WEIRD PART... that comes later....Logically I tried the following to see where the problem was:
1) Using another modded fat PS2 with a matrix infinity chip
-hook up the hdd and try to load HDL 8c like I always do using DEV2, doesn't work
-launched HDL 8c using a disc, says there is not HDD connected
-launched uLE and tried to access HDD, shows nothing is on the HDD(everything else is accessible, i.e. MC0, mass, etc)
..........at this point, I thought my HDD crapped out on me so I swapped the HDD with one that was already set up with games on it
and launched HDL and uLE on my PS2, same outcome: not recognized. I tried it on the borrowed system, works fine. Two conclusions: either my network adapter doesn't work, or my PS2 doesn't work.
-I tested my network adaptor on the borrowed system: works fine. Here, I'm thinking; "Ok, so my PS2's broken now." Before I pack everything away, I re-test everything: both HDDs, both network adapters using uLE and HDL on my PS2 with the same result.
HERE'S THE WEIRD PART
I put my stuff away and put back together the borrowed PS2...turned it on to play a game through HDL............. it's not recognizing the HDD.... this is the SAME set up that worked right before I tested my stuff. I went through the whole process again, trying different ways to access the HDD and..... NOTHING.
I even took both HDDs to see if they're working on a PC, through WinHiip, everything is still on the hdds... I formatted one and
tried again, but nothing....
Does anyone know what's going on and what I can do to fix this? I still want to play my backups via hdd.
