what are the ways to maximize ps2 slim performance aside from cleaning the lens.

Keep it ventilated. Do you want it to load games faster? What's the model number?

yes i want it to load faster because my backups are really slow.
model number is scph 70012 and why is it sometimes some of my games work great but sometimes it doesnt

Use DVD-R in the system and burn it at half the speed of what the media is rated for. (8x if media is 16x)
If you have a modchip the laser might be dying. If its FMCB, then its just the media you are using. I have the same PS2 model number and it hates DVD+R or any RW media.

i dont think the problem is in my media storage device. i think the problem is the ps2 itself because after i cleaned the lens. it loaded somewhat faster then after an hour it became slower again

What media are you using and is the console chipped or are you using FMCB?

im using verbatim 16x dvd-r burned at 8x and my ps2 is chipped
