How about posting a burn log?

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Buy a cheap DVD player. They will play any brand of DVD's, or try a different brand of blank DVD's.

That's not true. A crappy DVD will be crappy in most any DVD players, recorder or burner. That's not a fix.

The key is to use better blank media. Learn more at http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm on which DVDs are best, and where to buy them.

Easy as that.

The "key" is to make better quality recordings by:
1) using discs compatible with your drive--this may require some experimentation and updating firmware (Taiyo Yuden 8X or slower and Verbatim are the most compatible discs. Taiyo Yuden 16X discs are compatible with newer drives, but some 16X drives 4-5 years old may have some difficulty unless the recording speed is dropped to 8X or slower)
2) using good recording techniques--running only your recording software during recording with nothing else running in the background
3) proper handling of discs before and after recording
4) choosing good quality media--most brand names are OK as long as they are compatible with your drive, but "off-brands" are frequently B-grade discs from otherwise reputatable suppliers.

digitalfaq is not a bad source of information if you already know a good deal about optical discs, but it is difficult for a novice to distinguish the accurate from the misleading or misunderstood information.
