Hi guys, regular reader first time poster. And yes I've done my research but still not convinced!
I've got a modded 360 which I use to play offline to gain achievements etc. The only time I logon to live with this box is to update achievements really, not interested in playing Live on this console. Modded with Ixtreme 1.51
However I've ordered a second 360 which will remain unmodified so I can play on live. However is it safe to use the same Gamertag I have to play online even though I login from time to time to update achievements? Has anyone heard about both consoles being banned in a situation like this?
Is it just safer if I setup a different gamertag with a different windows passport to play on my live machine? I'm not overly bothered about achievements but would be nice to have a single gamer tag rather than 2, but only if my unmodded console will be safe on live!
from everything i've read, your gamertag is ok-its the actual console that gets banned. even if you're sharing a hard drive between the two you should be fine.
Everything will be fine, They ban the console not the actual account. You know if you just play good backups and scan them for stealth in ABGX theres not much chance of you being banned... know one has been banned in quite a while now.
Ok think I'll stick with my same gamertag then? It's just I've played games before release date before so my tag has been flagged previously. On a previous Xbox I was banned. My current modded Xbox has played "bad" discs, not overly bothered if it gets banned though
I was just worried the following would happen as I've read a few horror stories on google;
1) I login on modded Xbox to purely update achievements, there is never a backup in the drive when doing this and so far I haven't been banned. If my modded gets banned then so be it!
2) I login on unmodded to play online with same gamertag
3) msoft sends the ban but sends to both machines as they can see I'm logging on with this tag regularly on two diff xboxes with diff serial numbers, even though only one is modded

Just want my unmodded to be safe!
This is just stupid.
1.) Never Play games before they are released unless you want to waste an xbox
2.) Stay on most current firmware (1.51 currently)
3.) Always run iso's through abgx360 and make sure all tests pass
