WinMX 3.31 Uploading Problems

I have seen this posted elsewhere but with no replies so I am wondering....

No-one can upload from me on WinMX; they are all constantly timing out from my end and I am getting understandably angry messages from people accusing me of not being willing to share. Which of course I am!

I have a feeling it's something to do with activating the Windows XP firewall. But I don't really want to go without the firewall just for the sake of WinMX. At the same time I don't want this aggro from everyone about not sharing. And I think they're right to moan too, so purely ignoring them isn't a reasonable option!

Anyway - can anyone advise?

It's the xp firewall for sure. You need to give that up and get a free firewall like Zone Alarm, Tiny Personal Firewall, Sygate, anything's better than the xp firewall. But you are right, you do need to use a firewall.

Thanks. I've replaced the Windows XP firewall with another and that's done the trick.
