Recommend a Free Video Editor If I Want To...

Hey guys.

I'm hoping one of you can recommend a good free video editor. I'm trying to find one that will not only allow me to merge different wmv or avi files, but allow me to alter the audio as well.

For instance, If I spliced together clips from two shows (say Buffy and Veronica Mars) I would like to cut to Sarah Michelle Gellar while Kristen Bell keeps talking, if that makes any sense.

I've found some good avi trimmers and joiners, but none that would allow me to alter or substitute the audio.

Any help is appreciated.
