Hi All,
First post so I'm sorry if I do something wrong.

I have tried to search for this but cant seem to get my head around any of it.. there is so many guides from different firmwares downgrading and no needs and thats my brain flatlining!!

Anyway if in doubt ask...

My cousin has tasked me with seeing if her sons psp can be hacked. I have googled but as i say there is just too many cooks and this aint my broth lol.

So the psp has 3.95 firmware and they dont have a clue on anything pc wise so i'm confident this is the original firmware (i asked them and they just had a blank look followed by waaa??)

It is also the psp with ic1003 which means its a TA 082 motherboard (which from several of the sites i looked on is a problem... isnt it?)

So that being said can someone tell me or direct me to a guide on how to install custom firmware on this psp? I'm unsure because at first i saw it had to be fw1.5 then there where custom firmwares (i saw one called 3.95GEN but daren't do anything till i know!).

Does it need to be done with a pandora bat & magic memory stick?, does the original firmware even matter when updating to a custom firmware?

please help and sorry again if im being dim witted and missed the blindingly obvious!

Ok so i think i understand a bit more....

So I think it doesn't matter about the original Firmware is you use the pandora and mms to do it.

That being said I have found 3.95GEN and this is the same as the original Firmware but modded for homebrew right? So can just wack that across on the memory card as soon as I have done the mms? or do i have to put highest custom firmware on straight off?

Thanks for the reply, I saw those already, I guess I was just looking for confirmation that I'm right in saying it can be done, and that the firmware on there at the moment (3.95) doesn't make a difference to the custom that you install.
