I havent really been keeping an eye on the whole wii scene in a while and a lot has changed since i last looked into things. so forgive me if i m a bit out of touch.

I have a MODCHIP, a Wiikey 2 w/ v1.2 FW

i have recently been stupid enough to instal the Wii 4.0 FW

i have no other mods, etc.

how would i go about (if possible) being able to use a usb loader ?

i have heaps of backups (which i make using the PC, wiidump and imgburn) and they play fine since the 4.0 upgrade. but if i could get a usb hdd & loader goin that would b even better.

from the bits n pieces tht i have read a soft mod is impossible now with the 4.0 FW, but can the modchip help out in neway ?

is my wish (lol) still possible?

question do you have homebrew installed? If not the mod chip is very helpful in that you can go to the homebrew website and download the homebrew channel in disk format. Since you have a modchip you can burn the iso and your wii can read it off the back to install the homebrew channel without the twilight hack now that 4.0 has killed it.

after doing that i suggest you install new programs to your sd card apps folders consisting of wad installer 1.3 etc. Make sure all your elf files are converted to dol now that everything is of dol and not elf extensions.

Then install the usbloader via wad installation and make sure you get all the new updates for the homebrew channel and other files that have not been updated. I suggest also downloading and using starfall 4.0.

YOU CAN NOT USE THE SELF BOOTING DISC ON THE HBC WEBSITE!

Just wanted to get your attention so you didn't waist your time. The Self Booting installer drakoniss is talking about only works on 3.2 firmware. So that is not an option either.

If you do not have the Homebrew Channel installed then your out of luck at this time. There is no other way to install it since the Twilight Princess hack is completely blocked with 4.0 firmware.

There is however a new hack being developed (that is not done or available at this time) that may be able to install the HBC and or other applications. SO for now it is a waiting game for you.

Also there is no Starfall for 4.0 firmware. It is called Startpatch and isnt close to being as good as Starfall.

The ISO method is only available to the Wiis with modchip. For those who do not have a modchip, the "old" way is the only way: Twilight Hack.
