Samsung Mobile Display, a joint venture between Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDI, has revealed on Sunday that it expects the global smartphone market to balloon from 170 million in 2009 to 500 million units in 2012. Smart Phones would really take off if they were cheaper and came with a $25 plan... A lot of teens would jump on that...

I really have no interest in a smartphone. Like a lot of people that I know, I only really want a phone that can fit into my pocket and make phone calls. What I am interested is the battery and phone life.

If putting an OLED into the future units is going to make them last for a shorter period of time and cost more, then I will defidently not be buying into the technology.
