slim won't read cd based anything!

I got a Slim V12 Ps2, for some reason the only cd game that it reads it Marvel Super Alliance psx version (actual game not copied)
but my swap magic cd disk does not read at all or anything else.
the only thing it read is Swap Magic DVD, and iso games from dvd ps2 games. (not any cd-r based games for some reason) i miss playing my resident evil 3 and FF7. can someone help me!

Well the V12 PS2 is noted for the weak laser as the the coils heat up and burn out the laser on some.

Did you try cleaning the laser first.

Make sure the Swap Magic CD is pressed firmly down on the spindle.

Try booting the PS2 with the disk in a few times.

i have tried everything. i even tilted the friggin system (i got GTA to work finally by doing that) but the only game that is cd based it reads is Marvel Super Heroes psx. is there a way to swap out the marvel for magic?

There is no way to swap a PS2 Original CD for the Swap magic CD and have it work.

Did the Swap Magic CD work in other PS2's or is it brand new?

If its brand new and does not work, you could send it back for replacement if you think its the disc.

You could try adjusting the angle of the laser
Read Adjustment #1 in this guide.

Or if you think it is the laser, they are not expensive and pretty simple to change.
