If you don't have the homebrew channel or WAD Manager installed then your out of luck.

If you don't have either of those you would need to use the TP hack to install or run either of those apps and the TP hack is completely blocked on 4.0 firmware.

actually u can install the homebrew channel by downloading the ISO file from their website and burning it to a disc and installing it.then u could update it by putting hbc 1 on the sd card in the apps folder and running it. but u cant install wads without custom cIOS in 4.0. i'm still trying to find out if u can install those cIOS on nintendo updated 4.0 firmware without any other cIOS installed.

Agree ,it has limited functionality but for now i'm using it to load a simple media center like X-oom.

Actually you need a Modchip + 3.2 firmware on the Wii System to use the Self-Booting ISO that is on the Homebrew Channel website.

They are stuck because at this time they NEED the TP hack to install the HBC which 4.0 has blocked.

As for your situation you can follow this guide HERE to get the cIOS installed on your 4.0 system if you have the Homebrew Channel already installed.

i know u have to have modchip (and he said he has one) to use the self booting ISO file but i was not aware of the fact that u need 3.2 firmware to use it.
PS thnx for the guide

i followed the whole guide except the first step(it wouldnt work) and the cIOS rev 9, that wouldnt work either. i can install wads but i want to run them directly from SD channel how would i do that?

nvm solved my own problem. i just installed the patched version of IOS60. im very happy. thnx 4 the help
