Gecko 1.7 works, but 1.8.0.2 doesn't?

I have been using the HBC and Gecko 1.7, but I saw 1802 recently so I decided to upgrade. FYI, I have WAD 38 53 and 55 all installed already. To my surprise, none of my games work with Gecko 1802. After I press Load Game, the Wii would freeze at the screen that says "Preparing Drive...Reading disc data...Loading Title" and I would have to pull the plug. I decided to go back to Gecko 1.7, and everything works fine again. Is this a known problem? Any solutions? Thank you so much in advance
