I just did my first (Semi-) successful flash last nite. It was on a hitachi 78 and I was uber proud of myself until I ran Guitar Hero Metallica.
I Did the flash using FW Toolbox and a firmware file that SAID it was 1.51. After about 53 tries I finally pulled my head out of my @$$ and was able to do it correctly, lots of trial and error. All games played fine i.e. Pure, Aerosmith, Afro... When I inserted the UNPATCHED copy of GH-M I got a screen showing the Xbox logo and nothing else... dashboard only shows it as "Play DVD" not the game title. The dashboard is updated to the current one... I have not tried re-flashing it yet, since it will be a PITA to get it back to original, then flash with a diffent firmware.
My question, Is that XBOX screen the "third wave" video file?
Was the iextreme 1.51 firmware file I got mis labled?
I plan on checking that tonite... unusual because the GH-M plays in all of my other systems w/ 1.51 (flashed by someone else). I guess I need to find another 3rd wave game, the list posted on here just doesn't have any that I actually want!
